[3rd – 25th August]
More than a hundred designers, makers and artists, selling only their own work, come together this month for the West End Fair, in Edinburgh’s bustling West End, at St John’s, on the corner of Lothian Road and Princes Street. Entry is free, 11am – 6pm, and wheelchair-accessible. Said to be quite unlike anything of its class in the world, everything sold is produced by the makers themselves, with nothing imported. Admission is free, so you can visit as often as you like – and there’s a cafe on site, with indoor and outdoor seating, for food and refreshments. All the exhibitors are selected by a jury of experienced makers to ensure standards are high, and that there’s plenty of originality and diversity on display.
