The Whitehouse Gallery, Kirkcudbright: A Sense of Place

The Whitehouse Gallery, Kirkcudbright: A Sense of Place

The Whitehouse Gallery is hosting an exhibition exploring ‘A Sense of Place’ and what it means to the artists, with a range of landscape, still life and portraiture work.  This exhibition includes new work by eleven fine artists, as well as new collections of furniture, turned bowls, sculpture and ceramics.

The exhibition Preview is from 11am on Saturday 4th May. All are welcome to come along and enjoy the exhibition with complimentary refreshments and chocolates.

New to the gallery Dominique Cameron is an artist whose practise is rooted in landscape. She draws, paints, films and writes about her encounters whilst walking through an area of interest.  The work for this exhibition is specific to Galloway. It centres on a walk from a friend’s house in Borgue to the shores at Carrick, where Cameron was particularly drawn to the soft lushness of the landscape and ‘how it unwinds itself in gentle undulations and curving paths.’
