Resipole Studios, the unique exhibition space and artist-studios in the Highland setting of Lochaber on Scotland’s beautiful west coast, has no fewer than four exhibitions during August.
Their Summer Show features a selection of new works from their regular roster of artists including Penelope Anstice, Gavin Young and Andrew Sinclair, and introduces to the gallery artists Jackie Henderson and George Birrell.
Perthshire-based sculptor Sam MacDonald‘s love of fishing, diving and the sea to combines with his developing skills in metalwork, using traditional work techniques to produce unique impressions of fish, exploring the tactile effects that metal’s processes and techniques offer.
Charles Simpson‘s mature landscapes in accomplished oils showcase his passion for the dramatic ever-changing moods of Scotland’s seas, skies and land.
Jonathan Shearer‘s latest body of work, ‘Beyond the Rough Bounds‘, is the product of six months’ exploring Moidart, from Resipole to Glenfinnan, and out to the small isles, scaling munros and hiking to far-flung bothies, in search of inspiration from the Highland wilderness.
