A Scottish Country House Collection is an engaging private collection, publicly displayed at Kinblethmont Gallery for the first and last time, built up since 1967 by a Scot who has travelled and worked in Europe, the UK and USA.
A cross-section of 100 works, it includes rare prints by Bassano, Gauguin, Picasso and Toulouse Lautrec, a number of vibrant Scottish oil paintings from Barbara Rae, Fionna Carlisle, Robert Noble, Alan Macdonald and Alexander Fraser, and a wide representation of US artists including Leonard Baskin, Victor Brauner, Steven Kozar, Carol Summers and Patrick Kelly.
It contains work from unknown 18th century portraitists and restaurant doodlers, all the way to global giants of the art world. Above all, this collection is an intimate and somewhat eccentric gathering of artists great and small, and the work is for sale.
