Born in Fife, Scotland and currently based near St Andrews, Marion Smith studied sculpture at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen. Her practice centres on creating site-specific commissions for the public realm. She has large-scale sculptures permanently sited in the United Kingdom from Shetland in the far north to Southampton in the south and has exhibited internationally. She was elected to the Royal Scottish Academy in 2005.
In this exhibition at the Junor Gallery, Marion Smith’s virtuosity and versatility in scale are demonstrated in a selection of her small works. It is the gallery’s great pleasure to present this renowned sculptor’s work.
Marion Smith’s work is shown alongside small works from Andrew Wenrick, Belinda Bullen, Dan Drage and Alistair MacNaughton.
