Biggar Little Festival 2017 I Open Studios Trail

Biggar Little Festival is a family-friendly festival in the historic market town of Biggar. Join in to celebrate music, dance, arts and crafts, literature, and drama. It will be filled with an eclectic programme of workshops, exhibitions, children’s events, performances, a craft and food fair, and festival clubs.

Discover what brought well-known performers such as Ian Rankin, Kevin Bridges, Old Blind Dogs, Fred McCauley and Alexander McCall Smith to the festival in previous years. You can choose from more than 50 events spread across 10 days in October. Many events are free!

Little Festival sets out to work with the arts and crafts communities around the town to advance the arts by:

-developing Biggar and its surrounds as a community where the arts are encouraged and promoted

-encouraging links between local arts groups, artistic understanding and participation

-promoting exhibitions and performances

-developing opportunities for local, national and international artists to demonstrate their talents in Biggar and its surrounds

Biggar is a traditional market town with a thriving local arts scene, situated in rural Lanarkshire. Easily accessed from Edinburgh via the A702, and around an hour from Glasgow, Biggar also enjoys good scenic road links with the Scottish Borders, Dumfries & Galloway and the south.

Saturday the 28th – Sunday the 29th of October. Local artists open their studios to the general public.
