Q1. What are the top three influences which have shaped your artistic style?
A1: Abstract Expressionism/Kline/de Kooning

Q2. Artistic medium?
A2: Acrylic.

Q3. Educational background? Professional affiliates or awards?
A3: Calumet College of St. Joseph, NW Indiana, USA. Formerly affiliated: Caldwell Arts Council, Lenoir, North Carolina; Broken Stone Press (printmaking), Paducah, Kentucky, USA; (‘Artist of the Month’, Yeiser Art Centre, Paducah). Penwith Society of Arts; St. Ives Society of Artists; SaltHouse Gallery; annual September Festival Open Studio events, all St. Ives, Cornwall. Currently: Flat Cat Gallery, Lauder.

Q4. The moment you knew you were an artist or a career highlight so far?
A4: With other artists from all over America, moving to Paducah, Kentucky, to be part of the Artist Relocation Programme, also owning my own gallery there for four years.

Q5. Tell us a funny quirk about yourself!
A5: Never underestimate the intoxicating effect of Pinot….nor that of new shoes!

Q1. What are the top three influences which have shaped your artistic style?
A1: Aubrey Beardsley and the Art Nouveau Movement, Celtic Mythology, Natural Forms of land and sea.

Q2. Artistic medium?
A2: Mixed Media

Q3. Educational background? Professional affiliates or awards?
A3: Bournville School of Art, City of Birmingham College of Education ( Art / Drama ), Member of Skye & Lochalsh Arts & Crafts Association.

Q4. The moment you knew you were an artist or a career highlight so far?
A4: Working in Art Education and Visual Resources, then moving to the Isle of Skye in 1980 and establishing myself as a working artist with my own gallery.

Q5. Tell us a funny quirk about yourself!
A5: Always believe in Fairies, Dragons and Unicorns and you will have the power of their magic in your work.

A2: Pastel in wet & dry /soft & hard forms

A3: Diploma of Art DA (Drawing & Painting) Glasgow School of Art; Art Teachers Diploma ATD  University of London; Signature member of Pastel Society of America; Invitational lectures at IAPS over last 12 years (International Association of Pastel Societies); Awards with Pastel Journal / Uart  USA

Q4. The moment you knew you were an artist or a career highlight so far?
A4: Gaining membership to the ‘bigger pond’ ie PSA  USA!

Q5. Tell us a funny quirk about yourself!
A5: Teaching my international audiences a few choice Glasgow words to enlighten their vocabulary! And a crucial g & t at 5pm to keep the engine running! ( wherever in the world I am!)
