Davy Brown – ‘Celebrating Sixty’

Davy Brown, Village in Provence

Davy Brown’s is celebrating his sixtieth birthday this year as well as a decade of one-man exhibitions at The Torrance Gallery. He has produced work from his native Dumfriesshire to the East Coast of Scotland as well travelling to France. Brown left teaching in 2002 to become a professional artist and over the years his distinctive style of painting has consistently grown in popularity.

JUNE 19–JULY 3

Lynn Rodgie & Sally Mitchell

Lynn Rodgie is exhibiting her strong, bold and colourful paintings of the Scottish Borders as well as Edinburgh street scenes.

Sally Mitchell’s paintings are mainly of the west coast, focussing on the clear, soft light playing on turquoise seas.

JULY 10–24

George Birrell & Alexandra Steele

Birrell’s paintings are inspired by the fishing villages of Fife and the bold Scottish architecture of the tower houses. His vigorous brush stokes explore a play in perspectives and his colour use creates a unique interpretation.

Alexandra Steele style is influenced by French Impressionism and the Scottish Colourists.
