THE TORRANCE GALLERY
UNTIL FEBRUARY 27
Tom Watt - People, Cafes and Markets
Ken Ferguson, The Saddle, 15 1/2 x 23"
In this exhibition Tom Watt has captured the warmth of his adopted France and transported it to brighten a cold February in Edinburgh. His use of warm sunshine and dark shadows, whether in France or Venice, cannot help but bring joy to the beholder. Alongside the paintings of cafes, markets and rural France Tom is exhibiting his portraits of local French characters.
MARCH 6-20
Ken Ferguson & Kathleen Conboy
Kathleen Conboy, Autumn Landscape with Daisies, 11 x 12”
Ken Ferguson combines his love of walking in the Scottish mountains with his highly talented painting of the sights in Highland Scotland. He brings to this exhibition the joy of the Scottish mountains as well as the more gentle views of lochs with setting sun.
Kathleen Conboy’s landscape paintings are based on the sketches and notes she makes when out and about. Holidays abroad have provided material for many Mediterranean subjects, especially Mallorca. She also finds the landscape and coastal area of Fife as well as the west coast of Scotland rich in subject matter.
