Katharine Aarrestad, O what hard destiny can have brought
thee hither
Katharine Aarrestad’s technique of reverse painting on glass creates compelling, subtle and disconcerting images which hint at the changing nature of existence. Her work focuses on the translation of meaning through different points in time. Using subject matter drawn from the past, the themes of empire, exploration and childhood are explored to create a shifting vision of reality.
