THE ARTISTS STUDIO & GALLERY
Jett Vivere, Blue
The Artists Studio (TAS) & Gallery is a unique concept combining a gallery with a working artists’ studio. Its corner site is flooded with natural light, the atmosphere is open and welcoming and there are panoramic views of the city from the studio.
The gallery is host to a wide range of art, from oil paintings and sketches to photographic art, sculpture and ‘functional sculpture’. Commissions are accepted for art, photographic art and larger installation work.
TAS works with only a select number of Scottish artists in order to represent the best interests of both artists and clients. Often this will enable clients to meet with artists personally and gain a real insight into their work.
Artists in Residence
TAS artists in residence are J. P. McLaughlin and Jett Vivere, whose studios are on the first floor, where they can talk to visitors about their work and the gallery.
J. P. McLaughlin is an international artist whose evolving work is in constant demand. He has worked successfully as a professional artist for a number of years and has work in collections around the world. He has been exhibited in the UK, Spain and Russia.
Jett Vivere is an up and coming artist who has been working constantly since making art her career. She has exhibited across the country and, with the growing demand for her work, is an artist to watch for the future. Jett also designs unique furniture, which will be on display in the gallery.
Art Lessons, Workshops, Demonstrations
Jett Vivere, Contemplation,
J. P. McLaughlin is one of the few artists offering an insight into his private world of art and sculpture. He believes that art should be fun and open to all and through his art lessons, workshops and demonstrations strives to break down the barriers of the art establishment.
The workshops are open to all with an interest in art, with no minimum entry level required. The idea of ‘lessons’ conjures up images of lectures on how to ‘paint correctly’. However, McLaughlin does not work that way, the real point of the lessons being to create fun in art, while releasing your creative side.
Private or small group sessions can be arranged and J. P. McLaughlin will discuss the content of these with you. Demonstrations by McLaughlin and invited artists will be held throughout the year.
