John Mackie is well travelled, having toured Canada on a scholarship and absorbed himself in the French and Italian lifestyles. The inspiration of areas of great natural beauty (such as Umbria, Tuscany, Venice and the South of France) is evident in his evocative landscapes, as are the chic cityscapes and cafe scenes of Montpellier and the timeless Place du Tertre and Champs Elysees in Paris. Now resident again in Britain, John says: “I will always strive to paint with feeling, passion and honesty.” John Mackie will also be appearing at Breeze Art Gallery at Jenners, Edinburgh, (Sat Mar 27, 10.30am-12.30pm), Breeze Art Gallery at Frasers, Glasgow (Sat Mar 27, 2.30-4pm) and Breeze Art Studio, Jenners at Loch Lomond Shores, Balloch (Sun Mar 28, noon-2pm)
