New hand printed textiles and paper by Bridget Jones are available to view at Northern Print. The work has been assembled over a period of time by Jones, an established architectural glass and print maker, and were created using stitch and collage. The artist has said to be inspired by the fragment of fabrics and scraps of paper she was finding while moving.
The care with which each of the pieces has been created evoke feelings of home and the imagery is drawn from objects collected on beach combing trips, old Northumbrian barns, Amish quilts and Kinsugi – the Japanese technique of mending ceramics with gold.
On November 22, there will be a special viewing event where the public will be able to meet Bridget Jones and find out more about her work.
The event will start at 6pm and finish at 7pm.
