SETTING
If you can walk through the stylish Bisque Bar without being tempted to stop for a cocktail you'll find yourself in the Bisque Brasserie. The décor is muted autumn, woods and aluminium. With plenty of elbow-room and a mixture of square and round tables, it's an ideal venue for a group of close friends or a meal for two. Now that the warmer weather's arrived, try the outdoor patio for some relaxed al fresco dining.
FOOD
The peppery pea soup is a meal in itself, while my partner describes her crab and crayfish pate as tasting like it had 'come straight from the sea'. The roast pork belly is succulent, and the accompanying salty pancetta complements the spring cabbage perfectly. Across the table the char has a light brown crust from its brief meeting with the pan. It's black cherry crème brûlée for dessert. The caramel crust is feather-light, while the sweet creamy custard is in contrast to the bitter espresso that follows. With a summer menu on the way, check out the website for updates.
